Veneers are thin, tooth coloured covers designed to fit over the front facing surfaces of teeth. They are normally made from porcelain and help to improve the look of:

  • poorly formed or misaligned teeth
  • unsightly gaps
  • discolouration that is unaffected by tooth whitening
  • chipped or broken teeth

What does treatment involve?

Firstly, a very small amount of enamel is removed to accommodate the veneer. An impression is then made of the tooth so an accurate custom-made veneer can be produced.
When the veneer is ready, and after the tooth has been thoroughly cleaned and prepared, the porcelain shell is bonded to the front of the tooth with a resin cement that is hardened using a special light.
